Centrica plc, as the industry leader, supplies gas to Britain. The company's share in the utility sector is 60%, and 15% in the industrial and commercial market. CNA.L is also involved in the gas business in Belgium, the Netherlands and North America.

It was formed when the gas monopoly British Gas was split into two companies in 1997. CNA.L shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange and are part of the FTSE 100 index.
